Stories

  • Danish tooling maker OnRobot has started shipping the 2FGP20 Fork, an all-electric palletizing gripper for open, display and other low-rigidity boxes weighing up to 16 kg. It needs no compressed air, includes a vacuum pump for slip sheets, and comes with plugins for robots from ABB, Fanuc, Universal Robots, Doosan and others, replacing the custom pneumatic tools such jobs often required.

  • Kawasaki Robotics will show the CP110L, a four-axis palletizer with a 110 kg payload and 2,505 mm reach, in North America for the first time at PACK EXPO in Chicago on October 18-21. Rated at up to 2,200 cases per hour, it targets end-of-line packaging in plants with tight floor space or low ceilings.

    · Robotics Tomorrow

  • Deliveroo has signed an exclusive deal with Coco Robotics to deliver food with sidewalk robots in the UK, starting at Canary Wharf in London this October and then Milton Keynes, Leeds, Stockton-on-Tees and Nottingham. The robots travel at walking speed and share hazard data with the BlindSquare accessibility app; fleet sizes were not disclosed.

  • Agility Robotics and FORT Robotics have signed a memorandum of understanding to build safety infrastructure for Digit 5, including a pendant with emergency stop and enabling functions and a bridge to plant safety systems. The aim is to let the humanoid work near people at scale; earlier Digit versions have logged over 65,000 operating hours.

  • The Association for Advancing Automation has released ANSI/A3 R15.08-3-2026, the third part of its industrial mobile robot safety series. It covers the user's side: risk assessment, change management, staff training and periodic inspections during daily operation, complementing Parts 1 and 2 on the robots and the systems built with them.

  • Destro AI has emerged from stealth with an $8 million seed round led by Base10 Partners and Bonfire Ventures. Its software uses vision-language-action models to control robots and plan work alongside people in cross-dock logistics; a pilot with Yusen Logistics is growing to 26 robots, with a 17-robot pilot starting at another US site.

  • Retailer LPP's logistics arm has widened its partnership with Geekplus across two Polish sites, now running over 1,600 autonomous robots, including RoboShuttle units, with about 1.4 million storage locations up to roughly 12 metres high. The rollout was phased to keep operations running, with staff moving to supervision and exception handling.

    · Robotics Tomorrow

  • An unnamed Fortune 100 heavy equipment manufacturer that already uses Cyngn DriveMod Tuggers has extended them to a second production workflow, moving components to an assembly line. The vehicles tow up to 12,000 pounds and navigate without magnetic tape or guide wires, a sign of repeat industrial demand for autonomous material handling.

    · Robotics Tomorrow

  • Shanghai-based ZS Robotics has brought its H125 four-way pallet shuttle to the Americas, a warehouse storage and retrieval vehicle with a 125 mm chassis, 13 safety sensors and CE, UL and CSA compliance. The company, which reports over 1,000 shuttles deployed worldwide, is also opening a demonstration and training space in Houston with partner Kingmore.

    · Robotics Tomorrow

  • Amazon will invest more than $100 million in a 585,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Greenwood, Indiana, expected by 2028 with 300 jobs. It will make components for the company's fulfillment and robotics systems using robotic welding and automated powder coating. Amazon says it has built over 1 million robots in the US so far.

    · The Robot Report

  • Robotics software company Viam presented BoxBot at IROS 2026, a robot that cuts tape with visual servoing and opens flaps using a fine-tuned open source SmolVLA policy. Engineers gathered the 125 teleoperated demonstrations in about five hours, and the model runs on an NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano. Code and data are published on Hugging Face.

    · Robotics Tomorrow

  • The US Federal Communications Commission granted ANSCER Robotics conditional approval under its Covered List rules for three of its mobile robots, the AR250, AR650 and AR1250, letting it continue imports and sales tied to supply chain security commitments. ANSCER and Husqvarna are among the first robot makers to receive this status.

    · Robotics Tomorrow

  • Maven Robotics came out of stealth with a $100 million Series A backed by RoboStrategy, LocalGlobe, Vine Ventures and XTX Ventures. Its wheeled two-armed robots build mixed pallets in warehouses, lifting 30 kg each, and about eight units already run 16-hour days at customers. The company plans to build 250 third-generation robots.
