European Parliament approves €115 million Agile programme for defense startups

The European Parliament voted 536 to 101 for Agile, a €115 million one-year pilot to help startups and mid-sized firms bring defense technologies such as robotics, AI reconnaissance and quantum computing to readiness faster. Fully autonomous lethal weapons without effective human control are excluded. The Council still has to approve it, with a planned start on 1 January 2027.
